VEGANA PERO BIEN ALIMENTADA/VEGAN BUT WELL FED IS AN ILLUSTRATED RECIPE BOOK WITH ADAPTED DISHES -IN FLAVOUR & NUTRITION- OF THE TRADITIONAL SPANISH COOK.

1- HUNGER

Vegan but well fed is a very special project for me. I had this idea from before even becoming an illustrator.

The need (hunger) of making a recipe book of traditional dishes but vegan.

No chia. No quinoa. No kale. (no hate but-)

Just the traditional Spanish cook I ate for most of my life -plant based.

Not just that. As I am also a nutritionist specialised in veganism, I needed these recipes to be complete and nutritionally adapted.

2- PREP

I chose the recipes I wanted to include from my grandmothers and my mum’s recipe notebooks, wrote and cathegorised them.

Headed up to cook and try the vegan versions, and photographed them to have reference pictures.

I also wrote the nutritional info I wanted to include at the begining of the book so that everyone can be healthy.

3- COOK

Having the pictures as references and with the style I pursued in mind thanks to a moodboard, I started sketching the dishes.

With that and a set colour palete, I made colour proofs. When I felt the colours were perfect, I draw and painted the final illustrations.

The book has 58 recipes, from which 34 are illustrated.

4- PLATING

Lastly, I did the layout of the book and sent it to the printer.
